Cove base and stem wall coating that curves the floor coating up the wall for a sealed, easy-to-clean edge and a polished, finished perimeter.
A cove base is the curved edge where the floor coating rises up the wall a few inches. It seals the joint between floor and wall so water, dirt and spills do not collect in the corner, and it makes sweeping and mopping simple. A stem wall coating does the same on the short concrete wall many garages have around the slab. In Nashville garages that get hosed down or tracked with wet leaves and snow melt, a coved edge keeps the perimeter neat and protected.
We build the cove with a mixture of resin and filler that is troweled into the corner and shaped to a smooth radius. Walls are taped and, where needed, prepared and primed so the coating bonds. The cove is then flaked or colored to match the floor and sealed with the same clear topcoat, producing a seamless edge. Stem walls and steps can receive the same treatment. We explain how high the cove should run and discuss details at doors, pipes and corners so the finish looks tidy everywhere.

Short concrete walls get the same finish.
Doors, pipes and corners are finished carefully.
