The tools, cleaners and routines that keep a coated garage floor bright, including what to avoid.
A coated floor is easy to care for with the right routine. A soft broom or dust mop handles daily dust. A mop with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner handles deeper cleaning. A squeegee moves water and a stiff deck brush helps on textured areas. The things to avoid are harsh acids, strong solvents, abrasive pads and dragging sharp or heavy items without protection.
Spills are easiest to clean when they are fresh, so wipe oil, coolant and brake fluid soon. Rinse salt and grit off tires before they settle. Nashville pollen in spring and leaves in fall add dust, so a quick sweep and monthly mop keep things fresh. Rubber mats and heavy items can trap moisture, so lift and clean beneath them now and then. A short yearly checkup can catch small chips before they grow.
